About me

I’ve always had a fondness for books and the quiet corners they lead a body into, so I spend most of my hours keeping company with myself. As for feelings—deep, sweeping, earth-shaking ones—I seem to have been issued the modest, economy-size set. Romance don’t trouble my doorstep much, and I don’t go chasing it either.

I hold no faith in love’s fireworks and ain’t out hunting for any. What I’d like is simple: a bit of companionship, a partner who won’t need tending like a high-strung mule. Someone who walks beside rather than clings.

So, in a manner of speaking, we’d be something more than common friends—yet, in another queer twist, something a shade less than that too.

About you

Now, if I were to sketch out the sort of partner I’ve got in mind, I reckon they’d have to be a seasoned soul—someone with enough miles on the trail to tell a real storm from a little wind rustlin’ the leaves. Reliable, too; the kind of person who keeps their word without turning it into a public parade.

They ought to have an open mind—none of that tight-shut thinking that creaks like an old barn door in winter. And being well read is mighty welcome; a person who’s traveled through enough books is usually better company than one who’s never roamed farther than their own opinions.

Most importantly, they shouldn’t be chasing attention like a stray hound after every passing wagon. A quiet sort suits me fine—someone who doesn’t need the whole town to clap before they feel alive.

That’s the long and short of it: steady, curious, thoughtful, and content to walk beside me without turning life into a spectacle.
