About me
How would I describe myself? I like to think I'm polite. I guess I'm mild-mannered, phlegmatic, self-deprecating. I believe I can be witty (though we probably all think that about ourselves, and we can't all be right). My interests include reading and listening to music (from Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits to opera and swing jazz...). I quite like cooking though I'm no great shakes in the kitchen. I like coffee and wine, jazz and old black-and-white films, and animals, cats in particular. I enjoy spending time in the countryside. I'm not a fan of big cities, nor crowds or large-scale events. At the risk of sounding a bit boring, I'm quite fond of quiet nights in. So if you are looking to someone loud and gregarious, keep swiping ... there's nothing for you here. I guess I am hoping to find a soulmate. So ideally you will be someone who enjoys books and films, is liberal, left of centre, likes nature and animals (especially cats), is kind and compassionate and concerned about the current state of politics and the environment (though I am not an activist ... more a ranter in private).
