About me
THE PAST
I am a nibbler at the buffet table of life. I have been a movie usher, a salesman, a graphic artist and a restaurant owner. I have been an armed security officer at a nuclear power plant, and an EMT. I have owned and run a martial arts school teaching tai chi professionally for nearly ten years, produced one of the oldest Chinese martial arts conventions in the US, and hosted years of weekend seminars, covering topics ranging from various styles and systems of internal martial arts, to TCM, to Chinese philosophy and Yijing studies. I have been an MC and addressed hundreds of people, and been inducted into two industry halls of fame. I have been an actor, a published magazine writer, and have been both a producer and director of small indie video productions.
I am a hobbyist, starting with the hobbies of my youth enjoyed side-by-side with my dad. Fossil hunting, mineral hunting, archery, fishing, hunting, target shooting, chess, billiards and more. While I am mostly a recovering new ager, I have been known to still walk an occasional labyrinth, break out some dowsing equipment, or join a spontaneous drumming circle (I own several drums).
Divorced, after ten years of a marriage with no children, I have regrets but also the wisdom to learn from my mistakes. My past has taught me the lessons I need to be a better man and partner to someone in the future.
THE PRESENT
I retired from the IT field about two years ago, after the passing of my father to whom I was a caregiver for a number of years. I own my own home and am financially secure. I now pursue my life long dream of becoming a professional writer, fiction and non-fiction. Down the road I plan to start a YouTube channel or two.
I'm something of a social butterfly, a people person. I have a gentle nature, a sometimes wicked sense of humor, and like making people laugh. I love both dogs and cats, though my lifestyle has steered me towards cat ownership for the past decade or so, as I can't guarantee I'll always be home in

I miss the subtle dance of a blossoming relationship. I miss the first date with the happy realization you both felt a spark, a shared rhythm that can't be put into words. I miss the first kiss. The first time you hold hands. The beginning of shared experiences. The first trip together to a museum. The first movie.
